GOAL 1 - To identify and transfer information on best practices in economic development between higher education institutions and build a better image of economic development initiatives.
- Highlight successes and/or best practice initiatives for each of our 27 institutions and their respective business/industry partners.
- Action - At each of the monthly EDC meetings, one or two institutions will present a best practice initiative for their institution.
- Action - At one or two of the monthly EDC meetings per year, hold the meeting at the site of one of the institution’s “best practice” business/industry partners.
- Build a better image for the Economic Development initiatives from Oklahoma higher education institutions.
- Action - Work with Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education (OSRHE) staff to create Business Outreach development initiatives to build a stronger relationship between higher education institutions and businesses/industries.
- Action - Highlight best practice initiatives through the OSRHE & Oklahoma Department of Commerce (ODOC) marketing group (i.e. radio, TV, print media, presentations, etc.)
- Action – Create the Economic Development Showcase as a web site link for posting abstracts of best practices, partnerships, academic projects, professional development/continuing education, President’s Council activities, and other appropriate areas fostering economic development.
- Action - Update on a quarterly basis best practices initiative on the OSRHE website.
- Recognize exemplary higher education-business/industry partnerships throughout Oklahoma.
- Honor the higher education institutions and their respective business/industry partners at a meeting with the State Regents and other dignitaries through the Oklahoma State Regents Economic Development Partnership Recognition Program (EDPRP).
