GOAL 3 – To build quality relations, partnerships, and alliances with external entities.

• Develop a relationship of communication and participation with the State Chamber, local Chambers, Oklahoma Center for the Advancement of Science and Technology, ODOC, Oklahoma Quality Awards Foundation, Oklahoma State Department of Career Technology Education (CareerTech), Oklahoma Employment Security Commission (OESC), rural economic development organizations, Oklahoma College Public Relations Association, and other higher education institutions.
  • Action - When appropriate, assign representatives from the EDC to attend meetings and workshops of respective agencies. Encourage EDC members and College and University senior leaders to assume leadership roles in those organizations. Extend invitations to leaders from each listed organization/agency to address the EDC.
  • Action - Invite a representative from CareerTech and the ODOC to serve as ex-officio, non-voting members of the EDC.
  • Action - Through correspondence, invite OESC, Oklahoma College Career Services, other relevant agencies, and pertinent businesses or corporate partners to share their concerns and initiatives to the EDC.
  • Action - When appropriate, attend related economic development/community development conferences and activities.
  • Action - Demonstrate our willingness to support and assist economic development related organizations through sponsorships, exhibits, and etc.

• Facilitate the dissemination of information concerning the accomplishments and next steps of EDGE to local business and industry.
  • Action - Engage Oklahoma businesses to implement the recommendations of EDGE.
  • Action - Increase opportunities for student internship programs throughout the State in all industry clusters.
